Mumbo Zauce - Heads of State
This is a pretty peculiar review because I’m covering a product from my own grow, but I put a poll on Instagram asking if I should cover my own flowers, and got an overwhelmingly positive response, so I decided to indulge and give it a write up. For those who’ve missed my posting flurry about this strain over the last few months, Mumbo Zauce is a strain I bred by crossing a selection of Highway Runtz, a “white Runtz” bagseed, with pollen from a Gonzo male, Gonzo being GMO x OZK from Bay Area Seed Co. Process-wise, I managed to select this particular cut by it being the final viable cultivar in a small seed hunt, which I refer to as “miracle selection.” I always name my creations and selections of unnamed packs after DC institutions, and if you’ve ever been to a DC wing spot, you know how institutional capital city mumbo sauce is. Part of why I named it Mumbo Zauce has to do with the sweet and funky flavor and how they interplay. Mumbo Zauce has alot of Z flavor to it, with a candy similar to a lot of the third generation candy hybrids, but the middle note is much funkier than average, thanks to the GMO in the mix. The performance in a vape and joint were both impressive. About four weeks after harvest, the nugs were prime and it’s remarkably smooth on the inhale. The onset of the effect is immediate the the potency is formidable but not quite blistering. Overall, this particular run of Mumbo Zauce was well done and was on par with a lot of what I smoke from other producers. It’s a great new take on the candy gas formula and I hope more of you can try it from many great producers soon.
