OG - Traditional
Hardcore enthusiasts have been arguing about OG Kush since time immemorial (1991), but almost 25 years later the debate has shifted back to who actually has fire OG. Traditional has been rolling out a whole lineup with a great variety of flavors and OG seems to be the centerpiece of the whole lineup, and I have some mixed feelings about this. If you’ve ready my work for a while, you’ve seen I’ve covered tons of Sour and gas from the East Coast and the West Coast just has not caught back up. Traditional’s OG has gorgeous nugs with some amazing resin on them, which is the effect of being in a jar rather than smushed up in a mylar. When you crack the jar though the nose is kind off. It’s a really stinky funky nose, and kind of smells a bit like garbage. When you blend it up, the nose is much more of a textbook sweet fuel. It’s reasonably smooth, but the flavor is best on a really hot hit. The effects are as expected, muscle relaxing and a heavy droopy eye but it does kind of creep up on you in a way that I’m not a big fan of. The effects and potency are right on, in fact OG is really strong and melty. But overall, this is an example of solid smoke but not great OG. I’d like to see Traditional dial in the strain more, but ultimately I’m not particularly confident on which cut this is.
