The Swirl - Dorsia

If you’re on hyperniche corners of the internet for weed, you’ve seen people from coast to coast freaking out about Dorsia’s drops the last few months, and The Swirl got even more fanfare than normal. It’s a brand new flavor in the lineup with a killer blend of deep fruit and light gas that sits in front of quite the wallop in effects. The genetics for this strain are undisclosed, but Dorsia told me what the genetics are off the record, and all you super sleuths will probably be able to figure it out for yourselves too. Even for me though, I was shocked to learn what the hybrid actually was. Most people who aren’t super nerds probably won’t care about that, but what they will care about is the glisten from the resin and the pungency when they crack the jar. The nose is sort of freeze dried crushed berries, under a light soapy kerosene with a bit of rosewater buried in the middle. The flavor really does swirl all around your palate with different notes flashing in and out. Effects wise, this is melty, chill and almost sleepy. There’s a lot of body relaxation in the expression but you still get a noticeable head change. Overall, The Swirl is a really strong debut from Dorsia and really smokes great. On the Dorsia lineup, it doesn’t stand out to me as much as other fruit flavors like Morir Soñando and the various versions of strawberry they’ve released over the years, but this is still another example of Dorsia’s expert curation.
