Mega Z Red - Super Dope (CA)
The mega disappointment continues but fortunately ends here with Mega Z Red. This one is the most frustrating to not meet my expectations because OZK is one of my favorite genetics of all time, and this one does not hit the heights I would expect from such a legendary genetic. The biggest issue I have with Mega Z Red is the flavor which has very little fruit or gas, and leans on the musty, dirty kush note which doesn’t translate super well as rosin. At low temps, you get a lot of that Z fruit, and at all temps the rosin is quite clean, but it’s not impressing me. Again, this is an instance where the rosin isn’t bad, it’s quite potent with a strong head and body relaxation effect that is what I want from OZK. Everything else though is kind of a miss. The consistency is a bit too saucy which makes it hard to scoop, and the nose is not as pungent as I’d like. Like the others, everything is better than last time, but not in any way caught up with the rest of the competition. Overall, Mega Z Red, while still not a bad product, is the worst of the current Mega Z line and is a really hard recommendation for me. The flower version of this strain is really solid, so I’m not quite sure what happened, but this was for sure the hash flavor I finished last.
