Glueberry - Ryder Farms
Glueberry is another strain I’ve been dying to try from Ryder Farms for a while now, with this one passing me up on a few times as hash and flower. This was another strain that was hyped up beyond belief, and after smoking this and the Sour Glue, it’s really difficult for me to decide which is better. The genetics are, again, unmistakably east coast; a hybrid of (GG4 x Mother of Berries). Maine is basically the only craft market that cares about genetics like this, and the fluffiness of the buds doesn’t really play with other popular genetics that are denser. But we live in the hash age, and the resin on Glueberry is fresh, shiny and sticky. It sticks when you pull it apart, it’s perfectly fresh, and it’s so clearly well cared for flower, so wherever you are in the country I think it’s worth trying. The nose is like a concentrated blueberry juice but the more you huff the terps the more astringent it registers and the huff gives it’s own little headband buzz. The effect isn’t quite as aggressive, it’s more chill mode than demon mode, but the potency is still no slouch. As gassy and fermented fruity as the flavor is, the effect is roughly as relaxing. The chill head change and eye droop onsets immediately but the comedown is easy and drifty. Overall, Glueberry is a stunner and something that I think a lot of folks will still be talking about say five years from now. On a daily basis, I think I’d rather smoke Gluberry than the Sour Glue, but Glueberry doesn’t check quite as many boxes. Regardles, this sample from Ryder Farms far exceeds the hype and is another must-try from these guys.
