Pure Michigan - Shmu the Canna Prophet house curation
A close friend of mine got a delivery from Shmu before meeting me for KBBQ and the Shmu team sent him with a nug of this Pure Michigan from the top of the house line for me. The first time I tried Pure Michigan was the Pure Maryland cut from Flowerboy Gardens back in 2021, and at the time I was impressed by it, only to have progressively worse and worse batches over time. The hybrid is Mendobreath x Oreoz, and obviously I’ve pretty actively avoided this strain because I think it’s just not worth it and has no terps. This time though, I’m grateful the Shmu guys hit me with this version because it’s quite good. The most impressive part of this sample is the flavor which is a sweet confectionary gas with a fragrance on the top and a sweet fuel lingering note. The flavor is much more intense than the aroma, which I think is a fine tradeoff. The potency is reasonable and the effect is really cozy, but I think this strain is more body chemistry dependent as some people say it hits them really hard and for me it’s kind of a middle level of potency. Overall, this is not the type of strain I prefer, but I understand why folks in the Shmu camp like it so much. I think the nugs are formidable and the flavor and effect fall in line properly with the price, so I’d recommend it if you’re a big fan of this type of sweet fragrance or want an especially sedative effect.
