Pineapple Whip - Shmu the Canna Prophet house curation
Pineapple Whip has been showing up on a few menus in the DC area over the last six months or so, and since the people absolutely freak over this strain, I never got to try it. Finally, it’s my turn in the queue and immediately I can see why everyone has been snagging this up expeditiously. The nugs are not the best eye appeal, but you can immediately see how resinous it is. The skunky pineapple aroma jumps out at you immediately, and it gets even more sweet and astringent on blend. The flavor is more of the same but has more hardwood and savory gas behind it kind of reminding me of hot pineapple you might find in Thai curry. The effect kind of reminds me of a lot of Sour hybrids in the way of having an intense peak, but a pretty relaxing drift off and a lot of uplifting energy. Overall, Pineapple Whip from Shmu is solid smoke and it comes back to the menu regularly. The effects and flavor are what make this super special, even though I think historically a lot of the other flavors on this price tier are more interesting and thus better value. Pineapple whip is right in the middle of the pineapple/mango zeitgeist and executes on those flavors well, so it’s easy to see why the people love it.
