Sour Taffy - 710 Labs (CO)
Last time we covered a jar of 710 Labs Persy Badder, and thanks to Richi at the Highway, I was also able to get a sample of Colorado rosin to compare it to. 710 Labs has sort of a different load out in California than they do in Colorado, but when Richi showed off the Sour Taffy in the selection I knew I had to get some because the ABF Genetics and Symbiotic Genetics collab of Sour Sam x Gassy Taffy was just too hype to pass up. This rosin was also un-tiered but a living soil grown flavor, so I’d place it in between Tier 1 and Persy as yields are unclear but this is fresh press, not badder. In the past, I’ve railed against 710 Labs publicly for doing bad retailer education to instruct budtenders on keeping the rosin stable, but I got incredibly lucky with this sample and received an almost glass consistency in my rosin. In the past, fresh press rosin I’ve gotten from 710 labs has been brittle or dried out, but this was a perfect pull-n-snap consistency. The clarity you see from the initial pull translates to the melt on the banger as well, making for a water-clean burn just like the SB36. The flavor on this one is sort of like a saltwater taffy, but it really has that gritty diesel on the lingering note that lasts a while. The effect duration is also pretty long, but it’s more of a body floatiness than a remarkable head change. Overall, this is probably the best rosin I’ve ever tried from 710 Labs and an excellent presentation overall. I’m a bit biased towards the flavor and effects, but it met and exceeded the hype in my book and finally gives me a bit more faith again in 710 Labs
