GMO - Alchemy Studios DC

I’ve been grateful to know and work with Drue Downs at Alchemy Studios the last couple years, so when he asked me to check out his GMO grown in-house it was an instant yes. Even though I’m a bit biased towards the strain, getting to try an elite clone-only genetic from an elite competiton-winning grower is a no-brainer. Drue allowed me to see the plant in its veg state earlier in the season, and the level of vigor even at early stages helped me understand another reason why it’s become so popular. Beyond great table weights and impressive hash yields, GMO is just a feat of nature, and this is especially so when Drue grows it. The hybrid is (GSC x Chem D) from Mamiko seeds, which expresses some of the stinkiest resinous forest green colas. Drue grows his plants in what the kids would call some really nice dirt, and you can tell from how mouth coating the flavor is. The funk lingers on the palate for a good long while, but there’s also a bit of extra sweetness from the terroir. The hallmark of this strain is the effect and the potency, and this sample is textbook in these regards. If you’re a seasoned smoker, it may not give you quite the sedative effect, but the duration of the muscle relaxation and slumpy effects dwarf most other genetics. Overall, Alchemy Studios did well on this grow, especially being in the first wave of his cultivation for the year, but knowing Drue’s potential I know it hasn’t hitthe ceiling, both metaphorically and in the real world. While I really enjoy smoking this batch, I recommend keeping your eyes out for the next one in the works, which should be even better.
