Lemon Popperz - Super Dope (CA)
The last go-around with Super Dope’s Rosin, Lemon Popperz was the one that I couldn’t ever get my hands on. Probably because the wash numbers were quite low, there always seemed to be fewer jars of the Lemon Popperz per drop, and to that end I never tried Gelonade as rosin until earlier this year. The hybrid is (Lemon Tree x Gelato 41) and was popularized by Connected in California. This strain really had a choke hold on Cali pack enthusiasts for 2023 because it was a similar slump and lean effect you get from a lot of the candy strains, but the flavor on this is much more lemony than a lot of other candies. To say this rosin is bad would be lying, but being totally honest it didn’t really meet the hype either. The effects were punchy enough and the flavor is the same lemon candy notes that are a bit milder on the lemon rinds, much like the flower. Probably the strongest aspect of this sample is the outright potency, which will really lead you to Nap Land if you’re not careful. The big knocks I have for this one are that it’s the least clean burning on the banger, and the margin of error with temperature is very narrow. Overall, if you’ve been dying to try Lemon Popperz rosin this is worth trying at least once, but it’s far from my favorite in the lineup. Usually citrus terps are heavy orange or heavy lemon, so this one being on the frutier without the super pissy note is novel and welcome along with the formidable punch.
