Gary Payton x Sherbanger - Upstate Gardens

I reviewed the rosin version of this strain earlier in the year, but Terpy Dabber hooked it up with the flower version, which I was super hyped to try. I really liked the Zsunami flower I tried from them, so was expecting more of the same type of quality, which for the most part was delivered. Right out of the jar, these nugs are obviously resinous and well manicured, just not as stately as what was delivered from the Zsunami. The aroma on this hits you with the sweet notes first but rounds out with the soapy notes you find from the really fire Gary Paytons that all together hits kind of like artificial pear scented body wash you’d find in CVS. The flavor is more of the same with the soap notes hitting a bit heavier. Also heavy is the effect, which is a deep unfunctional slump. If you’re unprepared, you might have to take a nap, but even if you are prepared you’ll probably find it to be a grade-A slumper. One other note this falls a little short is with the smoothness, as this sample was noticeably throaty and not in the way that happens with some flavors that have a ton of bite. Overall, Gary Payton x Sherbanger from Upstate Gardens is a strong offering, but isn’t as extraordinary as the other sample I received. The flavor is really strong on the palate and for whatever reason I haven’t seen this strain from any other brand, but I believe this is one that shines brighter as rosin.
