Blue Zangria - Tread Lightly Collective

Tread has been growing some really interesting work in the DMV but so far the most intriguing has been the Blue Zangria, which I’ve been following intently since he popped the seeds. The strain is a hybrid of Rainbow Zangria x Blue Lobster released by Cipher Genetics in collaboration with Maine Trees. Blue Lobster is one of the most phenomenal East Coast selections so selecting and cultivating something the comes close to the hype is a tall order. Luckily, Tread is a wizard in the tent and he managed to find a pheno that is basically a perfect mix of the two parents. On the looks side, this nug is caked in resin heads and looks better than any batch of Blue Lobster or Rainbow Zangria I’ve ever gotten, which reflects extra attention and possibly the under-canopy lights in the setup. The nose is a perfect mix of the electric blue raspberry sweetness, wine grapes and astringent fuel. As good as it looks and smells, these nugs smoke even better, being super smooth and fresh. The flavor is exactly the same as the aroma, quite saturated and lingers quite long. It’s not easy to hold a candle to the original Blue Lobster flavor, but Blue Zangria is more complex than its parents and doesn’t register as watering down the traits from either. The effects are quite stimulating, and while it’s a bit less potent than Lobster, it’s still a really refreshing chill and it’s by no means a light hit. Overall, I’ve been hype on Tread for years and excited about this project since I heard he was starting it, and it easily exceeds the hype. This is some proper craft flower, a strong selection and an excellent smoke all in one.
