Z From the Vault - Helios Hash x ADHDDEAD
ADHDDEAD usually tees up some hype collaborations for his events, but maybe the most impressive one to date both in spectacle and quality is Z From the Vault with Helios Hash. The name is a play on the classic Grateful Dead recording “Three From the Vault” from 1971. ADHDDEAD was gracious enough to let me help with the design on the jar, but what’s outside the jar from Justin Lovato and myself is barely a preview of how sick the rosin on the inside is. Z has been a major point of contention in the hash world because it takes a lot more knowledge and attention during flower. Some circles say submitting Z to competition breaks decorum, but more objectively Z is an affectation – you can either grow it really well, or you’re dedicating that energy to making a product that someone wants more than Z. This version is the real deal and it’s among the best samples of this I’ve tried as rosin to date. The nose and flavor have all of the hallmarks of a proper cut of Z and the rosin is a bit chunkier than the expected Z soup. I suspect this is attributed to the addition of the 120-149µ range of heads and a colder press. In addition to stellar flavor with a wide margin for error on temperature, the effect is also highly stimulating and has better than average outright potency. Overall, this is a strong offering from Helios, probably the best product I’ve tried from them to date.
