Skullcandy - Turkey Bag Tom

Turkey Bag Tom has impressed often in the past in his searches of large northern California facilities, surfacing hidden gems the often have overstock or get overlooked. In the past, he especially impressed me with his Cherry Moonshine and his curation of Tea Time and he’s also managed to find some of the best value crops of OG in NorCal. A lot of this stuff has shown up on other menus with other names, namely Don Merfos and Wizard Trees, and I suspect Skullcandy is the same deal. It’s hard to say exactly what the genetics are on this sample, but it reminds me a lot of the candies that have gone into Merfos bags such as the Super Candy and the Nopalez. The nugs are a tad beat up, but they are still reasonably fresh and absolutely caked in resin. When it comes to flower like this and at this price point, that type of treatment is expected and luckily the smoke is better than the looks. If you’ve smoked as much candy as I have the last couple of years, you may be a bit desensitized to the type of potency that you get from candies, but I found the effects to be a very clean version of the predictable candy slump with a bit more drift off the comedown than I’m used to. Compared to a hard crash on the end, it’s much appreciated. Overall, Skullcandy was a solid candy but at excellent value. If you’re buying it in a Merfos bag, you’re paying about double what this costs on the ounce ticket from Beat Coast Terps, and for that you’re getting near top of the line candy.
